A little update from me

A little update from me
Hello everyone!

Big things are happening! I just wanted to give you all a little update about what I’ve been up to, and a little introduction to those who are new to my page.

For those of you that are new to my page, I’m Kirsty, a photographer and videographer in Ely, Cambridgeshire. I love working outside in the fresh air, meeting new people and capturing your memories in a relaxed and enjoyable session. My work ranges from family session or pet portrait to sports match action or wedding celebration. Keep your eyes peeled for the new site coming soon for family sessions and weddings, but don’t let this stop you getting in touch in the meantime to book in for a session or to ask any questions.

I’ve already been working with lots of great people, my recent work can be found on my social media or website, I am on Facebook and Instagram @kirstyblackwellphotography if you would like to follow and get the first look into the work I am doing and any special offers.

So as you may have seen from my social media I have now finished my degree. Three years of my life have been studying Photography and Video in Leicester and now it’s time to step out into the ‘real world’. I thoroughly enjoyed my course, learnt so much, collaborated with some creative people and made friends for life.

A couple of things I was really proud of:

  • Our degree show, I was SO PROUD of everyone on my course, the standard of the show was fantastic and we had a really great opening night to celebrate!

  • Winning the Rachel Stevens Video Prize Fund! I was over the moon to win this award for my video ‘My Therapist’. It meant so much to me because it was such a personal project which I expanded and worked with some fantastic people and to be recognised for the emotion and quality of the video was really special.

  • Graduation, my ceremony was on the 19th of July and it was such a mixture of emotions, having all my family travel to support me as well as all of my course mates together was really something.

Moving home has been a big adjustment for me but now I’ve taken some time to reflect it’s all very exciting. This is now a new chapter in my life where I have all the time in the world to give to my photography and film making for you! It now sounds really exciting rather than daunting. I cannot wait to get to work with lots of amazing people and hopefully furry friends to capture those special moments to treasure forever!

Hopefully see some of you soon,

Kirsty x
