My 2019 Review

My 2019 Review

Hello everyone,

Hope you had a lovely Christmas and great new year!

I’m finally back in to the swing of things today, catching up on all my emails while trying to eat up the last of the Christmas choccy.

I decided this year that I wanted to do a review for 2019, because a lot of exciting opportunities happened for me and my business. I got to work with some amazing people and businesses so wanted to share it all with you!

2019 was great for my equine photography. I visited Burnham Market and Houghton international horse trails. It is such a great environment to get some great action shots at these events. Also The Household Calvary open day was something I had always wanted to go to, and finally last year I did. It was such a great day with lots of displays especially my favourite the musical ride.

I reached local papers through the De Montfort University Equestrian Society naked advent calendar 2019. Everyone was a great sport in raising lots of money for the Riding for the Disabled Charity. Really excited to now see the launch of the 2020 calendar recently, it was great to be invited back to work with everyone a second time.

I had lots of equine portrait sessions along the way, creating special memories to keep forever. Also some very kind people helping me with a personal project of mine, “My Therapist”. This managed to win me the Rachel Stevens Video Prize at the De Montfort University Degree show, which I was over the moon about. I thoroughly enjoy an equine shoot and after the success of my video project, I’m really excited to launch a new package in 2020!

In 2019 I also had some fantastic sports photography and videography opportunities. I worked with Peterborough United Football Club on match coverage and a new kit release video, which was great fun. A new partnership also formed with Soham Town Rangers Football Club. I create video content and full match coverage for them, which I am really enjoying.

Another great addition to my portfolio was working with Cambridge United Football Club. I photographed games on a few occasions throughout the year even against my own team which was a real personal highlight!

I had another great wedding season shooting for fellow photographer and friend Amy Blair Photography. We got to work with some amazing couples, in beautiful venues! I always love the uniqueness of each wedding. In October I had Rosie and Marks wedding which was fantastic, a really beautiful autumnal wedding. They were the first to receive my new wedding boxes which I am so happy with and cannot wait to work with more couples in 2020. Keep an eye on my social media for the release of my wedding and family packages and portfolio.

Another real personal favourite for me was filming a very special wedding of the closest of family friends. It was so special for me to create something for them to remember the day forever, a real emotional editing session!

Personal Highlights:

2019 really has been one of the best. I graduated with a first in Photography and Video in July surrounded by friends and family. Also had a fantastic degree show to celebrate with all my fellow graduates. Got to do lots of travelling and memory making. Most importantly my dream that I am working so hard for is starting to flourish.

I cannot thank everyone enough who has chosen to work with me throughout 2019, and I hope too see you and lots more people in 2020 to make lots more epic content to beat 2019!

Can you spot yourself in the video?

All the best,

Kirsty x
