Samantha & James’ Autumn Country Photo Shoot in Essex
Back in November, I had the privilege of spending some time with Samantha and her boyfriend James on a crisp autumn morning. There’s something so special about an early morning photoshoot making the most of the sunrise and the gorgeous golden light and the beautiful autumn colours.
After rearranging their shoot twice due to bad weather, this session was third time lucky and it couldn’t have gone better! I loved getting to know Samantha and James, their lovely horse Doodles and their dogs Maisie and Mable.

As always, we discussed outfits in our preshoot call and Samantha and James definitely listened. They had three outfits planned to fit the country vibe. In the morning before starting to take any photos, we had a walk around the yard and available space to pick out three spots that we could use, and matched the outfits to each space. This preplanning paid off and the final images turned out brilliantly cohesive.
When I arrived, Doodles was perfectly turned out with a fresh clip, a silky mane and tail and finished with hoof oil. She looked amazing and I think this really translated into the final images.

During the photoshoot, we opted not to do any photos of Doodles being ridden as she has an equine best friend who she doesn’t like to leave. To keep her calm and chilled during the session, I held her friend on a lunge line, grazing throughout the session.
Towards the end of the session, they chose to add some festive fun using my beautiful wreath to get a photo perfect for their Christmas cards! Any full equine shoots from September onwards get complimentary use of the wreath included in their session.

Following our shoot, I really enjoyed doing the viewing session. We met half way in a lovely hotel for a coffee and I was so pleased that they loved the photos and chose a beautiful 9 in 1 frame to display their special memories.
Samantha left me such a kind review and I’m so pleased that she also had such a positive experience, just like I did!
“Kirsty was amazing from start to finish. She was super professional, which really shows in her work. I had a photoshoot with my horse and partner and I could not have asked for the day to have gone any other way. I highly recommend Kirsty and her business. Thank you so much for everything you have done for us.”
